Regain control of your finances

Personal Finance Coach Teri Slater and I have a casual conversation about money habits, money mindset, and our money stories.

We both agree that change starts with awareness. So, in order to change your finances, you have to know where you are starting from.

Your past doesn’t determine your future. If you want something different, do something different!

How to create awareness

Although it may not be something you want to do, to create awareness and initiate change, you’ll need to track your spending habits.

This process isn’t to shame you or create a scarcity mindset, the purpose is to create awareness around your habits and mindset as it relates to your money habits.

Growing up in the same household – different money habits

How can two people grow up in the same household, have the same parents but have a different money story?

Because our perceptions, experiences and personalities are different.  So even though we are exposed to some of the same situations, our take-aways may differ.  As a result, the impact on our spending behavior may not be the same.
